    Security Analyst is responsible for security monitoring and responding to alerts and events. The incumbent will be creating, tuning, compiling metrics of all security devices, along with documentation of processes and procedures. This role will require strong analytical and collaboration skills, detailed working knowledge of current and emerging security technologies, as well as the ability to correlate events to identify abnormal behaviour.

    Responsibilities
    • Responsible to ensure accurate and rapid response to security events
    • Advise and consult internal customers on risk assessment, threat modelling and vulnerability management
    • Interpret and apply security policies and procedures
    • Identify security issues and risks, and develop mitigation plans
    • Participate in response to incidents
    • Recommend solutions to mitigate risks in any activity that may potentially impact security of existing IT and information management
    • Provide analysis and trending of security log data from various security devices
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the IT security industry, including awareness of new or revised security solutions, improved security processes and development of new attacks and threat vectors
    • Provide information security reporting, including security metrics as required
    • Participate in a rotational 24/7 SOC environment
    • Any other ad-hoc duties as required or assigned

    Requirements

    • Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma in IT or Computer Science from a recognized university
    • At least 2 years of demonstrated experience in system, network, and/or application security
    • Knowledge of network and web-related protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, BGP and other routing protocols)
    • Experience in service-oriented architecture and web services security is desired
    • Experience in the application of threat modelling or other risk identification techniques
    • Detailed knowledge of system security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques, including penetration testing and the development of exploits
    • Breadth of knowledge in information security space with emphasis on TCP/IP network security, operating system security, common attack patterns and exploitation techniques
    • Effective leadership skills and a team player
    • Strong sense of ownership and drive
