• Senior Manager – Data Science Operations 05/06/2019 Singapore Full Time

    Our Client is embarking on a major transformation of the company, at the core of this transformation are Digital technologies and methods. Central to the digitization is data analytics. Data analytics will be in everything it does, from plant design and operations to building a direct to consumer retail business. As a result, Client has built & further growing a global Data Science team to establish and drive the company’s strategy of integrated energy platform, in collaboration with its’ business, functional and market leaders.

    This person will act as a deputy and set up internal processes and framework to enhance efficiency of the team. Partnering the Data Scientist and Data Science Delivery Manager, he/she will develop replicable process and tracking for the team. We will need someone very strong in influencing, meticulous and driven.


    • Define and implement strategic initiatives on continuous improvement covering all aspects of technology and process within the global Data Science function, which will include but not limited to the following activities:
    • Develop an efficient management reporting & governance framework for operational performance related KPIs within Data Science
    • Work with Data Science delivery managers to implement integrated processes to support efficient and scalable delivery of Data Science products to Sembcorp businesses
    • Work with Data Science data specialists to implement effective control & monitoring measures to enable consistent and high-quality delivery outcomes
    • Collaborate with other functions within Digital & Technology to establish an efficient cross-functional engagement model for Data Science to support integrated Digital & Technology projects
    • Work with the HOD to setup an integrated & efficient Data Science resourcing model that includes long-term development of the internal team and establish strategic partnerships with external parties


    • Demonstrated experience in implementing efficient processes for delivering advanced technology products in a high-growth environment, with relevant formal qualifications in process quality control strongly preferred
    • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in business consulting for/with large & complex organisations involving the delivery of digital solutions
    • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in leading digital transformation projects working with business & technology stakeholders across multiple geographies
    • Demonstrated experience of successfully implementing positive change in business processes through implementation of digital solutions based on advanced analytics
    • Demonstrated ability to exert positive influence without authority with both peers and senior stakeholders including CXO-level staff
    • Demonstrate exception ability for efficient multi-tasking in a delivery-focused and high-paced environment
    • Unwavering focus on maintaining meticulous detail & timeliness in delivering tasks
    • A strong academic background, with a Bachelor or above in (ideally) a combined technology and business-oriented major
